Hamilton printer’s cabinet with a mix of steel and wooden drawers. The embossed cast iron drawer pulls are charmingly mismatched. Handwritten labels (clowns! fruit! humans!) remain on the front. There is a fair amount of wear on the metal and the two top drawers are missing. James Edward Hamilton, a skilled woodworker, founded the J.E. Hamilton Holly Wood Type Company in 1880. Based in Two Rivers, WI, it quickly became the go-to source for wood type, cabinets, and furniture.
