One of the best parts of our job? Supplying material for some of the best restaurants in the country. If you’re in the mood for margaritas, head to Mission Taqueria in Center City, Philadelphia. Designed by Chrysalis Studio’s Hope Velocette, the luminous space is filled with neon pink lighting, colorful tile, and Provenance’s whitewashed reclaimed lath.

We caught up with head bartender Zach Kessler for the inside scoop on what to drink during a heatwave and his favorite people-watching perch.

What’s the best cocktail to drink at Mission Taqueria right now?
Our drink menu has so many summery options that it’s hard to choose, but I’d go with the Coco Loco. It’s a tequila-based colada with freshly juiced pineapple, coconut milk, blanco, lime, and a little grate of cinnamon on top.

What’s the best seat in the house?
My favorite spot to sit and sip is on one of the benches in our big bay windows. You can survey the whole room while peering down on the Sansom Street action from your cozy perch above.

Thirsty yet? Check out their Saturday happy hour from 4-6 p.m. all summer long.
